Today gamers, we’ll learn the word “boycott”

Gamers, what has happened to you?

Now, I know that this doesn’t account to all of us, but… look at the people out there who act like total idiots because they don’t get EXACTLY what they want. They act like they DESERVE what they want, regardless of what’s actually plausible, and make excuses as to what they want, which fall apart so quickly.

Take the Left4Dead2 Boycott (a word which seems to be becoming the favourite of many gamers right now). They wanted Left4Dead2 as free DLC. They tried to deny it, but it couldn’t be hidden. They made up so many lousy excuses like “Valve isn’t supporting us with the original game like they said they would”, but what happened when the founders of the Boycott, who ACTUALLY believed this, went to see Valve, and saw that their thoughts were wrong and Left4Dead 1 was still being supported? Did they turn and say they were wrong? Of course not, they complained that the founders of the boycott were traitors … the FOUNDERS who were the ones who made the boycott to start with, and had realised they were in error… were traitors. Now, that makes no sense. Basically the boycotters wanted Left4Dead2 for free, and they didn’t get it, so they cried like babies.

And then we get to the current situation with Modern Warfare 2 not having dedicated servers. Oh dear, so we can’t have dedicated servers and have to deal with matchmaking servers like on the consoles, and we KNOW how badly the FIRST Modern Warfare sold on consoles because of not having dedicated servers … oh wait … yeah, it sold. It sold amazingly well, and it was one of the most played games online, meaning that it doesn’t NEED the dedicated servers, but no, because we have PC gamers who think they are SOOOO special and they don’t get something they really don’t need anway, they’re throwing the word boycott around again.

So seriously people, you think that you deserve more than other people, and because you haven’t been given special treatment, you refuse to buy a game that there is nothing wrong with? Take Left4Dead2, there are people out there who say that it’s basically the same thing again with nothing really updated, just replaced maps and characters with the same gameplay. Erm yeah, that is what’s called a “sequel”, when it’s the same type of game, but when the things in it are different. While you’re at it why don’t you ask for Gears of War 3 to be DLC for Gears 2? After all, won’t that be just the same thing just with different levels and weapons and stuff? See how stupid the logic is now?

You’re not special, you’re not deserving more than other people, you are gamers like everyone else. In fact no, you’re less than other people, because while most gamers make do with what they’ve got, you see the need to poke and moan and complain about every little thing because something isn’t right, the logo is the wrong shade of green, the main character’s voice is one decibel too loud, the online takes a moment too long to find a match, oh the horror!

So take your problems, deal with them, and play the damn game!
